What a powerful story! You do an excellent job of portraying the mind of a person imprisoned and tortured. You give Charity no overblown heroics but a quiet dignity and the courage of her convictions. I like her attitude towards Arthur; the conjunction between someone who understands another culture and one who enjoys it as exotica was subtly described. Charity Burbage was a character who fascinated me from the moment I read about her, though she appears for only a short time. You do her justice.
