I don't often cry reading fan-fic. And usually if I do, it's not until the climax or very conclusion.

But I cried all the way through this.

I'd love to leave you a thorough review, with some level of coherence, but I'm too moved at the moment to think about writing and mechanics.

One line that did stand out to me, really amazing: No one ever wants to kill as badly as their victim wants to live.
