Wow - thank you so much for your thorough and detailed comment. I feel truly honoured by the amount of time and energy you must have put into it.
Bella, she is a believer, oh yes. For a very long time, the Dark Lord is the one thing that brought meaning to her life, and that makes her so very determined and scary.
The order of the drabbles was determined by the events in canon, and this is why I started with Petunia. But in hindsight, I like how that created a slow start that culminated in Molly killing Bellatrix.
Umbridge is such a fascinating character to explore. Her efficiency and self-righteousness really freak me out. Yes, she doesn't deserve such a lovely Patronus. *snatches cat!Patronus away from Umbridge* But on the other hand, that Patronus is a beautiful way of showing that even an evil character like Umbridge has things she cares about. :-)
Hermione is such a duty-bound character in the books. And what I found truly impressive about her is her loyalty towards Harry, even when he is lost and ungrateful. And I think that this loyalty is her way of being brave.
Minerva - thank you for joining the chorus. Her scene and Pansy's were my favourite scenes in that fic. I simply had to make my own sense of that scene in the books where Minerva didn't even protest against Harry using the torture curse.
