Title: After the Kingfisher's Wing
Author: [livejournal.com profile] zuben_eschamali
Fandom: Supernatural
Rating: PG-13
Warnings: swearing
Prompt: #13: If the first woman God ever made was strong enough to turn the world upside down, these women together ought to be able to turn it right side up again.--Sojourner Truth (1797 – November 26, 1883), African-American abolitionist, women's rights activist, advocate for prison reform, anti-capital punishment activist, lecturer and saint of the Episcopal Church.
Summary: The battle isn't over just because they died on the field. Ellen and Jo find some allies in Heaven that they knew while they were alive and some that they didn't, and together they're the only ones who can make things right.
Author's Notes: Written as a series of double-drabbles for extra fun. Thanks to [livejournal.com profile] dugindeep and [livejournal.com profile] kasman for beta reading. The title is from T.S. Eliot's Four Quartets: "After the kingfisher's wing/Has answered light to light, and is silent, the light is still/At the still point of the turning world."

Fandom: Twilight, Supernatural
Rating: PG
Warnings: a little violence, even less language
Prompt: Prompt #4 - I was thought to be 'stuck up.' I wasn't. I was just sure of myself. This is and always has been an unforgivable quality to the unsure. - Bette Davis
Summary: Be the change you want to see in the world, she quotes at herself, and laughs because she'll never change again, and tells herself instead let the world change the way you want to see.
Author's Notes: I started out trying to stick fairly closely to the prompt, but the final story doesn't really have much to do with it.  The title is from T.S. Eliot's poem Whispers of Immortality, and a huge thank-you to [livejournal.com profile] be_themoon  for the beta!

Prompt: #77, Lucretia Mott--We too often bind ourselves by authorities rather than by the truth.

Author's Notes: Title is from Pablo Neruda's "Enigma for the Worried." Alas, SPN is not my sandbox; I merely play in it. Many thanks to [livejournal.com profile] kalliel for looking over this! ♥

(The angels had taken them one by one and walked in their bodies with gaits too measured to be instinctive, their voices clear and dispassionate and their eyes filled with the dimmed light of distant, unknown stars. They wore no halos of golden warmth but the cold spirit of the inevitable.)

Warnings: slightly horror, mythical/Biblical references
Prompt: 98) Justice is better than chivalry if we cannot have both. -- Alice Stone Blackwell.
Author's Notes: Before this gets Kripke'd big time. First, thanks to M who tried her best with the initial comments. And then a very big thank you to [livejournal.com profile] faelescaloris for the intensive beta. I don't think it was an easy job, tackling those commas, introducing parallelisms, and commenting on imagery, but she did it all wonderfully. For a complete stranger, too. Any mistakes found here, though, are mine.
