she was looking for a strong, uncompromising leader - she wouldn't bow to anyone else. And at the same time, she didn't quite recognise that this leader would also crush her. And then again, she needed just this as a proof that he was worthy of her devotion.

Ee! I love that observation :) See, because convoluted is one of the things Bella's mind absolutely IS, to me. I hated her while reading the books (obviously, she kills and hurts the people the reader grows attached to), but as with several Potter characters, with growing out of my teens, I can increasingly appreciate her uncompromising character. I'll be reading this fic of yours right away! :) (and probably discuss this some more, there) Dark is always an enticement for me.

Good point about fandom being as big because canon has its faults. It still angers me that an author who can come up with so brilliant a universe has no grasp on the complexity of characters :X (I mean, Rowling probably does, but what she fed the children/later readers in general is just too simple. Imagine people go ahead and believe her.)

Yeah, I agree about Molly as well, though I feel that this is a trait many mothers show, often those which were raised rigidly themselves. I think a lot of that stuff originates in tradition and one's own past - and this is one of the reasons I stopped liking the Weasleys once I grew older: they are simple. They are nice, warm, welcoming, even ready to fight - but their world consists of a handful of coordinates, and they aren't capable of looking beyond these.
One might say the same thing about the "bad" characters (with their Pureblood-loving and Muggle-hating), but the difference (to me) is, that the villains are bound to fail and thus, to learn. The Weasleys remain on the bright side of the war, and in their secure waters.

I still don't think I hate Molly. *thinking about which character I really hate* Either way, could you link me to that meme? I tried using the Bellatrix tag in your journal, but it didn't show!

What violation of beliefs do you see in Dolores?
She conjured a Patronus and saved someone she didn't care about, as opposed to leaving him to the cruel fate he "deserved". I felt she was doing good, to fulfil her evil plans. Did I misread that? ;)

Yes, your words on Molly made a lot of sense! (And further add to the self-righteousness I attribute the Good Guys ;)) Gah, I sometimes think I'm absolute in my judgements as well.
