I'm with you on the time travel. (There's an Hermione/Hermione time travel fic, on pornish_pixies I think.) I think it can be very difficult to write because of the inherent paradoxes, and all the possible Rule of the Universe that it might break. (For example, can you actually ever change the past, or do you merely fulfil it, like Harry did oin PoA?)
And it is interesting thinking about Sirius, because he wouldn't think it was power, the way Hermione has. He would rage, possibly, or write it off, or - like the worst of self-fulfilling prophecies - attemtp to stop it happening in such a way that causes it. Because can you actually change the future (even if you can't change prophecies)?
You're making me think of Angel again and the prophecy Wesley works so hard to overcome. I'm annoyed about that in fandom, actually, because the prophecy wasn't a fake and did come true.
