Aha! I remember now... I still had an issue with the Hamburger. Never with the text, because of Sahjahn, but with the Hamburger. The word "devour" usually means to destroy completely. It doesn't have to, necessarily, but the word still implies a purpose and intensity that was lacking when Lilah gave Connor the blood. I suppose technically it's fair enough, but it doesn't sit well with me at all.
That's what JKR was talking about when she asked whether Voldemort would have gone after Harry, if there would have been a Boy-Who-Lived if Voldemort hadn't heard the prophecy.
Which is so much the fun of these kinds of stories... Really, it's all about how fatalistic the character is. Shows so much about their attitude to the world...
