Title: Finally Growing Wise
Author: [livejournal.com profile] minkhollow
Fandom: Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog
Rating: PG-13
Warnings: brief violence and a few odd moral compasses
Prompt: 124) It is bitter to lose a friend to evil before one loses him to death.-- Mary Renault (1905-1983), English author of contemporary and historical novels, and non-fiction.
Summary: Penny can't say what the world's coming to, when a jewel thief is asking her for help against the Evil League of Evil and both of the new guys in her life have surprisingly nasty sides to them, but either way, she suspects her life just got a lot more interesting - and that she can't just ignore this one until it goes away.
Author's Notes: I've wanted to do Penny backstory that isn't a roster of her dating history for a while now, and this ficathon is the perfect place for that. We go AU shortly after Act I, though there are a couple situational spoilers and lines from Act II in the mix. Thanks to [livejournal.com profile] gehayi and [livejournal.com profile] quinby for beta-reading.
