Brilliant, ridiculously poignant, and the feminist overtones were just spot-on. Each of your characterizations is simply perfect - and your Rosmerta, wow... It's now (in the year or so since I've first read it) become the Rosmerta I think of, even when I go back to read the original.
Feminism, whether that of our mothers and fathers or that of today, has always been about choices. And that's what you've portrayed so brilliantly -- your characters' unapologetic, uncompromising ownership of the choices they make for their lives.
Yep. A year later, and I still think about what you've written here. Don't have much higher praise for writing than that. Brava.
