Hello, you! Thanks so much for reading! Any comment is 'valuable in terms of commenting', btw. ;) 'Resigned' is definitely a good word for Rosmerta. I'm glad that came across. She might have had a bit more ambition in her younger days, but by the time she's been through Imperius, she's much more weary.
She knows everyone believes her to be the bar maid and nobody sees her as someone whose opinion is, in fact, valuable, simply because nobody knows her and her story and what she's gone through well enough to appreciate her advice.
Yes, yes! Exactly! So glad that all came across. I'm also glad the individual segments worked for you. It was indeed a struggle to keep them sounding different, especially when each was essentially, 'walk into a bar and have a drink with the bar maid.' Yay!
I might do a post about sexism someday soon. I do have some thoughts on it, but thought I toned it down a bit for this story (compared to some of my other stories!) To me, it's not so much explicit examples from canon, as explicit examples of other power inequalities in canon (with class, for instance) that makes me argue that gender inequality comes hand in hand with that.
Anyway! Yes, you made sense! Thanks so much for the kind comments. :)
