I wouldn't choose to write in second person present tense as a regular thing, but it's fun to experiment with every now and then. I like the way it simultaneously pulls readers in and pushes them away. It's intrusive, saying, "This is you, right here, right now," but it's also a weird, unfamiliar presentation, which can create a sort of distance -- a constant, nagging awareness that you're reading words on a page rather than experiencing a story by osmosis.
