I can't comment on any of the usual fanfic issues, as I don't know the canon (or even the history, very well). But I like the piece - a strong, distinctive voice with a lot implied without being said openly.
My one niggle is that I'm not sure about the Shakespeare quotes - or may it's just that they'd work better in italics than brackets. They seem to disrupt the flow a bit, without feeling like section headings. But I do very much like the mixture of self-knowledge and desperate self-justification. Not a happy woman, but an interesting one - at least from a safe distance!
