And the mathematician must do the same thing. -- Sofya Kovalevskaya (1850-1891), first major Russian female mathematician, first woman to hold a full professorship in a northern European university, writer of memoirs and novelist. Known for the Cauchy-Kowalewski theorem. The lunar crater Kovalevskaya is named after her.
