Mod Post: Regarding Late Posting

Hi, folks.

A number of people have contacted me because they're going to have to post late. Others have told me that their stories have defeated them and have asked if they'll be able to participate next year. I've answered everyone, but in case there's someone out there who's worried about either question:

1) Yes, you can post late.

I know that real life can get in the way; I know that stories can be uncooperative. Posting late is more than allowed. (And I'll add any late stories to the Master List.)

2) No. There are no penalties if you can't post a story. And you WILL be able to participate again if you have to bail.

If the story proves un-writable or, as above, if real life gets in the way--hey. It happens. Hopefully things will go more smoothly for you next year.

Not related to the ficathon itself, but is the open season for posting going on again this year? I've written another story using one of the prompts but I don't want to step on anyone's toes, and it needs a bit of polishing before it goes public.

Er....not sure what you mean by open posting, but if you need time to polish before you post, that's fine.

Sorry, I didn't phrase that very well: last year you left the prompts open for anyone to write fics for and post in the comm until the start of the next femgen, is that going to happen this year?

I'll be posting late, just haven't had a chance to come by and tell you. (stupid memory....) Haven't written a thing beyond two co-written stories in over a month. Hate writer's block. I know what I want to write for both prompts, just... have to write them. x.x

Go away already, stupid block. I'm getting farther behind than I was to start with!

Hi! I--sort of just finished the story I wrote for last year's prompt, and I just realized I'm not a member of this community, so I can't post it--assuming it's even allowed. It's been months. But I sent a membership request and that is the reason.
